As your Guntersville veterinary healthcare provider we believe one of our roles is to educate you in all aspects of pet care. With numerous advances occurring every day our goal is to provide your loved ones with the highest quality service using the latest advances in veterinary medicine. Dr. Chuck Young
Veterinarian
Dr. Young graduated from Guntersville High School in 1991, Auburn University in 1995 with a bachelors in Animal and Poultry Science, and Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. He did mission work in Africa, Mongolia and Ecuador before returning to practice in Huntsville.
In 2001 he returned to Guntersville to practice and over the past 2 decades has trained at many of the top faculties in the US. His special areas of interest are orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. He also receives complex dentistry/reconstruction cases as well as ultrasound referrals from around North Alabama.
He is a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Albertville and in his time away from work enjoys trail riding one of three quarter horses.
He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Osteosynthesis North America, American Association of Feline Practitioners, Christian Veterinary Missions and the Animal Emergency Center of North Alabama.

Jeannie Driver
Hospital Manager/Secretary
Jeannie is originally from Maryland but has lived in Alabama most of her life. She currently lives in Albertville with her husband Jake and their son Levi. Jeannie and her family currently attend Church of the Highlands where they are members. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and time on the lake.

Vanessa Holsonback
Administrator
Vanessa was born in Germany but grew up here in Guntersville. She and her husband Kenneth are blessed with three little girls; Cloey, Emmalee, and Lily. She attends Radiant Life Fellowship in Albertville where she is the youth director. Outside of work she enjoys jogging and spending time with her children.

Melia Millar
Registered Veterinary Nurse, CVCCS
Melia is originally from Albertville and graduated from Albertville High School. She is a registered veterinary nursing and is passionate about taking care of critical patients, anesthesia, surgery and dentistry. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, her Labradoodle’s Kylee and Rylee, and the rest of her crew, as well as time on the lake kayaking.

Ginger Smalley
Secretary
Ginger Smalley is a resident of Guntersville where she was born and raised. She graduated from Guntersville High School then attended Belhaven University in Mississippi where she graduated with a BFA in Art. Ginger enjoys spending time with family, her two children, and two cats. In her free time she enjoys camping, cooking, and traveling.

Bree Pankey
Patient Care Coordinator
Bree is a Guntersville local having grown up here. She enjoys spending time with her large family and her cat Dusty; whom she adopted from our shelter. Bree is recently engaged and is planning a spring wedding.

Leslie Coville
Patient Care Coordinator
Leslie is originally from Mt. Hebron and graduated from Douglas High School. Outside of work she enjoys all outdoor activities including hiking, swimming, and kayaking. She also enjoys spending time with her three dogs Katie, Smoke, and Laney. She has always had a love and passion for animals and feels blessed to be able to work with them every day.

Madison Pruitt
Veterinary Nurse Assistant
Madison is graduated from Albertville High School and currently lives in Grant, AL. She loves all animals, especially her three dogs and cat. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, fiancé, and friends, she also enjoys kayaking, four-wheeling, and the lake in the summer time.

Mikela Quintana
Surgical Nurse Assistant
Mikela grew up in Boaz and graduated from Boaz High School. She is a member of Crossroads Assembly of God in Albertville and recently returned from a mission’s trip to Honduras. She is currently enrolled at Snead State pursuing her basic associates degree. Her hobbies include teaching, singing, studying history and biblical text….which in her opinion can be even more enjoyable with a hot cup of tea!

Christy Dawson
Veterinary Nurse Assistant
Christy Dawson is a life long resident of New Hope where she attended New Hope high school. Christy has always had a great love for animals and knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career as a veterinary nurse. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband Johnny, their daughter Chloee and kitty cat Dooney.

Madison Crocker
Veterinary Nurse Assistant
Madison is a native of Alabama and considers Rainbow City her home. She recently spent the last three years living in Laredo Texas where her family ministers to the locals near the Mexico border. She is currently working toward becoming a licensed veterinary nurse and in her free time enjoys attending Meadowbrook Baptist Church, spending time with her family, her Great Dane Picasso, and going to the gym.

Jillian Kessinger
Nurse Assistant
Jillian although originally from North Carolina she spent most of her early childhood in Italy. She lives with her family and beautiful kitty Jack. She enjoys spending her free time reading, eating good food and spending quality time with her loved ones. Her dream is to become a veterinary nurse working in a zoo and eventually live in the Caribbean Islands.

Maggie Ragsdale
Nurse Assistant
Maggie graduated from Guntersville High School and is currently attending Snead State. She has plans of going to Jefferson State to become an LVT. She loves spending time with her animals, friends, family, and taking trips.

Alisa Breen-Kirchmyer
Nurse Assistant
Alisa is currently enrolled in UAH and Calhoun Community College working towards eventually being accepted at Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She was born in Washington D.C. and lives in Huntsville, AL. Alisa enjoys spending time with her cats and family in her free time. She loves helping animals whenever and wherever she can.

Hannah Hasse
Nurse Assistant
Hannah graduated from Guntersville High School and attending Snead State as she makes her way to Auburn University to pursue her dreams of becoming a Veterinarian. In her free time she loves spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs Wiz and Dually. She has a huge heart for animals and can’t wait to spend every day helping them.

LaChell Martin
Nurse Assistant
LaChell grew up in Arab and graduated from Arab High School. She enjoys spending time with family, friends and all of her furbabies. In her free time you will find her at the beach, 4 wheeling or enjoying Alabama football. She is currently working to pursue her dream of becoming a Veterinary Nurse.

Hannah Criscoe
Nurse Assistant
Hannah is a native of Virginia but has lived most of her life in North Alabama. She graduated from Brewer high school and is currently enrolled at Calhoun looking forward to starting the veterinary nursing program at Jefferson State soon. Alongside caring for animals she is also a professional Gun Dog trainer. In her free time you’ll find her at the gym.

We are located right behind the Finley Plaza Shopping Center on Hwy 69 before going across the causeway toward Arab. The Guntersville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is also next to us.

If our staff cannot be reached after hours (256-505-1878) due to being out of cell service and you have a medical emergency, please immediately call Huntsville Veterinary Emergency. They can be reached any hour we are closed (weeknights, weekends, or holidays) throughout the year at 256-715-8389.
