With numerous advances occurring every day our goal is to provide your loved ones with the highest quality service using the latest advances in veterinary medicine. You will find that our staff are helpful, knowledgeable and here to serve you.

Dr. Chuck Young
Veterinarian
Dr. Young graduated from Guntersville High School in 1991, Auburn University in 1995 with a bachelors in Animal and Poultry Science, and Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. He did mission work in Africa, Mongolia and Ecuador before returning to practice in Huntsville.
In 2001 he returned to Guntersville to practice and over the past 2 decades has trained at many of the top faculties in the US. His special areas of interest are orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. He also receives complex dentistry/reconstruction cases as well as ultrasound referrals from around North Alabama.
He is a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Albertville and in his time away from work enjoys trail riding one of three quarter horses.
He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Osteosynthesis North America, American Association of Feline Practitioners, Christian Veterinary Missions and the Animal Emergency Center of North Alabama.

Jeannie Driver
Hospital Manager/Secretary
Jeannie is originally from Maryland but has lived in Alabama most of her life. She currently lives in Albertville with her husband Jake and their son Levi. Jeannie and her family currently attend Church of the Highlands where they are members. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and time on the lake.

Ginger Smalley
Manager/Secretary
Ginger Smalley is a resident of Guntersville where she was born and raised. She graduated from Guntersville High School then attended Belhaven University in Mississippi where she graduated with a BFA in Art. Ginger enjoys spending time with family, her two children, and two cats. In her free time she enjoys camping, cooking, and traveling.

Vanessa Holsonback
Administrator
Vanessa was born in Germany but grew up here in Guntersville. She and her husband Kenneth are blessed with three little girls; Cloey, Emmalee, and Lily. She attends Radiant Life Fellowship in Albertville where she is the youth director. Outside of work she enjoys jogging and spending time with her children.

Christy Dawson is a life long resident of New Hope where she attended New Hope high school. Christy has always had a great love for animals and knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career as a veterinary nurse. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband Johnny, and their daughter Chloee.

Kerrie Plasters
Veterinary Nurse
Kerrie grew up between Florida and Alabama, and has now lived in Guntersville for several years with her husband, two dogs, and bird. She has always had a love for animals and nursing care. Shortly after starting at Guntersville Animal Hospital, she began to pursue Veterinary Nursing at Jefferson State and will soon be a licensed veterinary technician. In her free time she enjoys boating on the lake with her husband, spending time with her pets, and traveling to new places!

Taylor Stoner
Nurse Assistant
Taylor grew up here in Guntersville and is a graduate from Guntersville High school. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her friends and 2 cats Millie and Luna. She also really enjoys a good book or putting together a Lego set at her family cabin in Tennessee.

Madison Pruitt
Nurse Assistant
Madison is graduated from Albertville High School and currently lives in Grant, AL. She loves all animals, especially her three dogs and cat. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, fiancé, and friends, she also enjoys kayaking, four-wheeling, and the lake in the summer time.

Abigail Robertson
Nurse Assistant
Abigail grew up in Blountsville, Alabama and graduated from JB Pennington High School. She is currently enrolled at Jefferson State Community College to become an LVT. She has always loved animals and says she couldn’t see herself doing anything else for a career. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her two little girls who are 4 and 6, along with their animals.

Jasmine Pruitt was an early grad from New Hope High School. With a deep love of her Faith in God she attends church at Cove Baptist Church and feels blessed to care for the patients at OCR. In her spare time, Jasmine enjoys bible studies, antiquing, reading and gardening.

Emilie Rutledge
Nurse Assistant
Emilie graduated from Arab High School and is currently an Arab resident, with her husband and her dog Bullet. In her spare time, she loves to read and paint with water colors. Even though she has a busy work life that she enjoys, she always makes time for her loved ones.

Morgan Lindsay
Nurse Assistant
Morgan grew up in Joppa Al and graduated from Fairview High School in 2022. She is current resident of Albertville. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, but mostly her cat Oatie.

Emily Reeves
Nurse Assistant
Emily grew up in Grant Al and graduated from DAR High School. She is currently enrolled at North East for her basics and plans to transfer to Jefferson State to become a LVT. She always knew that she wanted to work with animals since a young age. Outside of work she enjoys hanging out with family, friends, and her two cats.

Hannah Hasse
Nurse Assistant
Hannah graduated from Guntersville High School and attending Snead State as she makes her way to Auburn University to pursue her dreams of becoming a Veterinarian. In her free time she loves spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs Wiz and Dually. She has a huge heart for animals and can’t wait to spend every day helping them.

Sarah Tune
Grooming
Sarah is a professional pet stylist who has been grooming cats and dogs for ten years, receiving her grooming certification from PetSmart Academy in 2014. She’s worked at multiple veterinary offices and has started her own dog daycare and grooming business in Oregon before moving out to Alabama to be a mom. She enjoys spending time with her family, her church, reading, and being outdoors.

We are located right behind the Finley Plaza Shopping Center on Hwy 69 before going across the causeway toward Arab. The Guntersville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is also next to us.
Emergencies
If our staff cannot be reached after hours (256-505-1878) due to being out of cell service and you have a medical emergency, please immediately call Huntsville Veterinary Emergency. They can be reached any hour we are closed (weeknights, weekends, or holidays) throughout the year at 256-715-8389.
